Announcing our first collaborative adventure! After our visit in the spring 0f 2014, Magellan International School’s science teacher Jennifer Barnett came up with the idea of translating our exhibit signs into Spanish. The 7th grade science students took on the project, and with some help from their Spanish teacher, Victor Solis, these awesome kids had the signs ready to go for this year’s visit with Magellan on April 17th.

What a fantastic addition to our program!

Wrapping Up the Last Star Party 2015

Ah, those long summer days are coming, and that means that our Star Parties must be put on hiatus until fall.

Here are some photos from the Star Party on Friday, March 27, 2015.  A big thanks to everyone who came out, and to all of our volunteers.

20150306-114949-1774-5d2-aaptOur intrepid founder, Paul Williams took ACCHaoS on the road last Friday, 03/06/2015. 20150306-114155-1756-5d2-aaptMembers of ACC’s Society of Physics Students (SPS), and students from Lee College and Texas Lutheran were on hand to assist.  They had a great time sharing science fun with seventy-five 6th graders from Highlands Junior and seventy-five 6th graders from Cedar Bayou Junior in Baytown last Friday, 3/6/15. B20150306-114401-1763-5d2-aaptaytown is a little out of our normal neck of the woods, but this was part of the Texas Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers Spring Meeting. Thanks to Tom O’Kuma for organizing the event.

Our visit to the Round Rock Public Library was, well, how else can I say it?  It was great!  We had a huge turnout. rrpl22014 We love seeing lots and lots of kids and parents sharing science.  Check the cool photos courtesy of the RRPL!

ACCHaoS – Fall 2013 in Retrospect

We’ve been busy.  I mean, really busy – and this is a very, very good thing!  I was catching up on some record-keeping this morning.  So far this semester (Fall 2013), ACCHaoS has made five school visits to four schools, and attended three public events – two Star Parties, and a Back to School Night that Paul did all by himself!  This translates into about forty-three hours of direct contact, and sharing science with a little over 1, 300 kids and adults.  We’re not done yet – we still have one more school visit before Winter Break.  The fun won’t stop there – we have  full calendar for Spring 2014!  Let the wild science rumpus begin!

Take a look at these photos – you can see why it has been a blast!
