Star Party Fun

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe weather kept us from seeing any stars at the Star Party on Friday, but we still had a great turn-out.  Our hands-on activities were enjoyed by all ages – it’s fun to see that the adults have just as fun as the kids!

Thank you to everyone who came out, and to everyone who participated!  Austin Planetarium and their Discovery Dome planetarium shows were a big hit as always.  Professor Tom Brown from the Geology program brought some of their fossil collection, including some  fossils that where found locally.  Central Texas was a very different place during the days of the dinosaurs!  Dr. Jim Heath’s talk on Pluto was very informative and entertaining.  We all had a great time.

Hope to have some photos to share soon!

Next Star Party is on March 22nd – info is at http://go.austincc.edu/starparty.
